Dr. Heather M. Cormany DVMDr. Heather Cormany was born and raised in a small town in southern Ohio. Even as a small child, she always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. She completed her undergraduate work and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Wilmington College in 1998. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ohio State University in 2004.
Following graduation, she relocated to Fort Lauderdale, where she spent the first two years at a busy, six-doctor, small-animal practice, and the following four years at a mixed small animal/exotics practice. Dr. Cormany returned to Ohio in 2009 and spent two-and-a-half years at a mixed small animal/exotics practice before joining Vetcare Animal Wellness in 2012.
Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, preventative medicine and senior pet care. She and her husband, Chris, have two human children and a menagerie of furry kids. These include Emily, an ingenious and fiercely protective dachshund, Luke, a sweet and gentle English Setter, Cash, a spoiled boxer and three conspiratorial cats, Levi, Rupert and Owen.
When not caring for their brood, Dr. Cormany and her family enjoy camping, backpacking, canoeing and live music.
